The project started out as a bi-weekly design challenge to design a desktop microphone.
The goal I set for myself was to find a form that’s clean and unexpected as a microphone, and something that can pack flat. The mic module is connected to the metal arm via magnets and can be removed to use wirelessly. Also had some fun with the CMF, without making it toy-like.
The mic has a rechargeable battery that can be charged when docked with the base.
The form for the carrying case naturally, but I wanted it to be soft and pebble-like for obvious ergonomic reasons. The soft form is also different from the more geometric design of the mic, which acts as a surprise when I user first opens the case.
